British boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua and Mexican fighter Andy Ruiz Jnr came face to face for the first time since their last fight.

Joshua in a fight that shocked the boxing world in June, lost to Ruiz at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

For the first time since that fight, the two boxers came to face for a press conference in Saudi Arabia ahead of their rematch that has been scheduled for Saturday, December 7.

At the press conference, both Joshua and Ruiz Jnr promised to be prepared for the much-anticipated fight.

Ruiz Jnr also dispelled the concern that he has gotten carried away with his last win and insisted that he has the ‘hunger’ to retain his titles.

It has been suggested that the Mexican boxer has been partying and living the high life since his win over Joshua.

"I don't want to be a 15-minute champion," he said at Wednesday's first press conference.

“On June 1 I made my dreams come true. There was a lot of sacrifice and blood, sweat and tears. I feel like I'm here for a purpose.

“I know on December 7 Joshua is going to be coming hard, he's going to be strong, he's hungry but I am as well. I know a lot of people are saying I'm not training but I'm working hard.”

“Joshua's going to want his belts back and I know that so that is giving me motivation to train even harder because I know he is pushing himself and it's making me more hungry,” he added.

“On December 7 I'm going to make history again and win in the same fashion and prove everybody wrong.”
