The Rock announced he'll be returning to the WWE.
He'll appear this friday on FOX's first episode of Smackdown! Live.
Back in August, The Rock said that he "quietly retired" from wrestling. It would appear that his "quiet" retirement is a rather short-lived one, though, as he's just announced his return to the ring for this Friday's debut of Smackdown! Live, which will be airing on FOX. d

"FINALLY...I come back home to my @ universe," he wrote in his Tweet. "This FRIDAY NIGHT, Ill return for our debut of SMACKDOWN!LIVE on @ .Theres no greater title than # .And theres no place like home.Tequila on me after the show # # # # "

Despite not being a part of the WWE in a full-time capacity, The Rock had continued making sporadic appearances throughout the years. His most recent appearance that counts towards the WWE's storyline was at Wrestlemania 32 (back in 2016), when he defeated Erick Rowan in a match , and teamed-up with his rival (and Fast and Furious fill-in ) John Cena to take down The Wyatt Family .

More recently, of course, The Rock's attention has been on movies. Earlier this year, he produced (and had a cameo role as himself in) Fighting With My Family, the WWE-tied movie about the life of Paige, one of the promotion's most popular Divas. He also got his first starring showcase in his Fast and Furious days in the spinoff Hobbs and Shaw. He's not done for this year either, as Jumanji: The Next Level is due out in December.

We're always fine with more of The Rock, and it looks like some of his old school wrestling fans have lucked out, and get their fill of the big man this coming Friday.
