Jacksonville Jaguars top 5 pass-rush options in free agency

Free agency is less than two weeks away and it will be interesting to see what the Jacksonville Jaguars plan to do in the open market. They currently have many roster holes and it will curious to see which ones they will fill in free agency and which ones they will wait until the draft to address.

The Jags should be one of the most appealing free-agent destinations this offseason due to the hire of head coach Urban Meyer and the potential selection of Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawerence. The fact they will have a league-high $82 million in cap space this offseason won’t hurt and will allow them to target pretty much every player they want in the open market.

Among those positions that need an upgrade are cornerback, left tackle, safety, defensive tackle, and maybe guard if they move on from guard Andrew Norwell. Also, they need to find a way to bolster a pass rush that had a hard time pressuring opposing quarterbacks and was responsible for just 18 sacks in 2020.

K’Lavon Chaisson finished last season on a high note and Josh Allen should be fully healthy after appearing in just seven games last offseason. However, Dawuane Smoot, who led Jaguars in sacks last season is scheduled to become a free agent, and the team’s brass could use the opportunity to give their pass rush a boost. Here are the five best pass rushers Jacksonville can target in free agency regardless of the position.
